NIR Products at Pittcon 2012

Smaller instrumentation was very much a key trend at Pittcon 2012. This was seen throughout the range of analytical techniques, with compact mass spectrometers, NMRs, ESRs, UV/vis, mid-IR as well as NIR spectrometers. Indeed, the first two instruments featured claim to be the world’s smallest NIR and FT-NIR, respectively.

JNIRS Impact Factor Increases to 1.57

JNIRS—Journal of Near Infrared Spectroscopy's Impact Factor has increased to 1.57 in the 2010 figures just released.

The Publishers and Editors recognise the importance of Impact Factor to many authors and will continue to work to increase it whilst ensuring that JNIRS remains the vehicle for publication of the NIR community's research.

Major review of research on meat and fish analysis

A major review of meat and fsih analysis has been published in JNIRS

The latest issue of JNIRS—Journal of Near Infrared Spectroscopy includes a major review article on the use of NIR spectroscopy for muscle food (meat and fish) analysis between 2005 and 2010 by Jittima Weeranantanaphan, Gerard Downey, Paul Allen and Da-Wen Sun.
