Good news and bad news for alien water

Using the NIR spectrometer on the Hubble Space Telescope, UK and US astronomers have detected water vapour in the atmosphere of three exoplanets, but not as much as they expected.
NIR sees water and organics on Mercury

Despite being the closest planet to the Sun, water ice and organic material may well exist on the surface of Mercury.
